2024 Tesla Model Y vs 2024 Honda Prologue
The electric vehicle market is more competitive than ever with new releases from notable brands like Honda competing with mainstream SUVs made from Tesla. Two of the most talked-about right now are the Honda Prologue and the Tesla Model Y. For tech-savvy consumers, choosing between these two innovative vehicles can be a thrilling yet challenging decision. Learn more about which EV is the right choice for you!
Range and Performance
Battery range is a critical factor when choosing an electric vehicle. The Honda Prologue has an impressive range at an EPA-estimated 296 miles on a single charge, rivaling Tesla’s long-standing reputation. On the other hand, the Tesla Model Y Long Range featuring AWD delivers a slightly higher range of up to 308 miles. However, this extended range will be reduced if you choose to opt for the Performance model that lowers to 285 miles on a single charge. In exchange for this reduction in range, the 0-60mph time decreases from 4.8 seconds on the Long Range version to 3.5 seconds with the Performance model. The top speed also increased from 135 mph to 155 mph.
Where the Prologue shines above the Tesla Model Y is its size and legroom. The Honda Prologue is slightly bigger than the Tesla Model Y, being 5 inches longer, 0.4 inches wider, and 0.7 inches taller than the 2024 Tesla Model Y while still offering 136.9 cubic feet of passenger volume. Both vehicles are eligible for the $7,500 EV tax credit, although the Model Y performance is still more expensive than the Honda Prologue at $54,490 compared to $48,795.
